My name is Marjorie Nazario, and I am a native Spanish speaker from Guatemala. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Italian Language and Literature, and a minor in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Davis.
In college, I worked as a Spanish tutor for the Department of Spanish and Classics, and completed various internships in the community as a translator, teacher’s aide, and tutoring Italian at a local cultural center.
I started as a Freelance interpreter a few years back, after attending a workshop and volunteering as a Community Interpreter for the City of Baltimore in 2008. Besides being a freelance translator and interpreter, I have worked in the health and managed care industry for 7 years, which has given me a good insight in medical terminology and procedures.
I became a Certified by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) in May 2014.
